Future City Volunteer Opportunity

Calling all environmental engineers! The Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) to be held in Columbus, Ohio, May 11-16, 2025 needs judges. This is the world’s most prestigious STEM competition for high school students, and it will take place at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Approximately 1,800 students from 60 countries, regions, and territories will compete for nearly $9,000,000 in awards and scholarships.

Roughly 1,200 Grand Award judges are needed within 22 scientific disciplines. Judges are required to participate in an orientation either virtually or in-person on Tuesday, May 13, while judging takes place on Wednesday, May 14.

The training on Tuesday, May 13 may take up to 2 hours, and judges are needed from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14.

A Grand Award Judge must have one of the following qualifications:

• Have a minimum of six years related professional experience beyond receiving their B.A., B.S., or master’s degree, OR
• Have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent (D.O., Ed.D., D.D.S., D.V.M., etc.), OR
• Be a current graduate student with more than four years of doctoral-level research experience or who is within one year of doctoral dissertation defense.
