ACEC Ohio Workforce Development Committee Update: New Initiatives Now Underway
ACEC Ohio’s Workforce Development Committee continues to make progress toward strengthening Ohio’s engineering talent pipeline. Our committee is focused on initiatives that support member firms, elevate industry visibility, and expand pathways into consulting engineering careers.
Centered Strategies Joins ACEC Ohio to Advance Workforce Goals
To accelerate this work, ACEC Ohio has engaged Sarah Rahal-Lunsford of Centered Strategies to support the implementation of Goal 1: Review of Ohio’s Workforce Landscape. Sarah will work 20 hours a month to help the committee gather, analyze, and organize Ohio’s education, STEM, and workforce data to better guide strategic engagement with partners across the state.
Workforce Development Work Plan: 2025–2026 Priorities
The committee’s 2025–2026 Work Plan outlines five strategic goals guiding our direction:
- Review Ohio’s Workforce Landscape
- Strengthen Strategic Engagement With Education & Workforce Partners
- Expand Internship & Career Pathways
- Strengthen K–12 Outreach & Promote STEM Awareness
- Increase Volunteer and Member Involvement
New ACEC Ohio Job Board & Internship Portal
We are excited to announce the upcoming launch of the ACEC Ohio Job Board, provided by Naylor. This new platform will allow member firms to:
- Post job openings
- Share internship opportunities
- Find volunteer opportunities
The job board will feature volunteer opportunities from our four partner STEM organizations, helping members connect directly with K–12 engagement programs. In addition, we are seeking members who are interested in:
- Speaking at universities or high schools
- Serving as adjunct professors
- Participating in STEM outreach events
- Supporting partner organizations' competitions and activities
