Continuing Education

The challenges of managing an engineering company are more daunting than ever, and the ACEC Ohio Business Management Committee is constantly planning continuing education programs to help Council members meet those challenges.

Recognizing that companies are constantly adding new employees to their management teams, ACEC Ohio regularly sponsors seminars and workshops to educate these new managers on topics ranging from liability avoidance to financial management to marketing and negotiating contract terms and fees.

For example, the Council recently sponsored a three-workshop series on Human Resources Management, a comprehensive program that covered every phase of personnel management, including recruiting, hiring, firing, incentive compensation systems, policy manuals, wage and hour law, fringe benefit programs, state and federal labor laws and employee motivation and evaluation.
