Those in "responsible charge" of PE and PS services soon must be full-time employees.
New requirement enacted in Am. Sub. H.B. 322
Effective May 18, companies that hold a Certificate of Authorization to offer engineering or surveying services must appoint one or more full-time partners, managers, members, officers or directors as being in responsible charge of the firm's engineering and surveying services.
The person(s) in responsible charge of engineering services must be a PE registered in the state of Ohio. Likewise, the person(s) in responsible charge of surveying services must be an Ohio-registered PS.
The requirement that persons in responsible charge be full-time employees (defined as working at least 30 hours per week) was adopted last year in Am. Sub. H.B. 322.
