Message from Beth -- March 21, 2019

Last week we wrapped up the 2019 Engineering Excellence Awards program, one of the highlights each year for ACEC Ohio members and their clients.  Over 170 attendees enjoyed the countdown to the Grand Award winner!  As one who does not keep things the same, a few changes were made to the program this year.  We celebrated our first annual scholarship winners, with the four-chapter areas each awarding a $2500 scholarship to a regional university student. Two of the four award winners joined us at the EEA lunch to accept their scholarships (see separate article).  The second change we made this year was the addition of a keynote speaker.  ACEC Ohio was honored to have Lt. Governor Jon Husted speak to the attendees of this year’s luncheon.  The Lt. Governor spoke about making Ohio the “place to be” and investing in our future now to keep Ohio successful.  Finally, we welcomed Marshall McPeek, a long-time Columbus meteorologist, as the host for the awards program.  Marshall was received with rave reviews for his enthusiasm and wit as he joined us on PI day too!EEA 2019 pics

Congratulations!

The Grand Award Winner for 2019 is the Dublin Road Water Plant Treatment Capacity Increase project completed by Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc.
