Businesses invited to participate in Industry Credential Review Team

Save the Date-Industry Credential Application Review

Dear Industry Leader,

In Ohio, students have the option to graduate high school by earning industry-recognized credentials, certifications, or licenses that are valuable to businesses in lieu of passing state tests. The list of credentials students can earn is built and maintained by the Ohio Department of Education and is updated annually.

What this means for you:

If you’re like many businesses in Ohio, you have open positions and are seeking talented applicants. Fortunately, thousands of students in Ohio graduate with credentials each year, and you can help students prepare for careers in your industry by reviewing credential applications to be potentially added to the list. On both February 27th and 28th, the Ohio Department of Education will be hosting half-day review sessions in both the morning and afternoon to review applications and take feedback about the credential application and review process. The Department of Education is looking for volunteers to attend one half-day session to be a part of a group of professionals from their industry of expertise, and make recommendations on which credentials have value and should be added to the list.
