Big Ohio contingent to attend national convention; sign up and plan to visit your Congressional representatives

A big contingent from Ohio is registered to attend next month's national ACEC Annual Convention and Legislative Summit in Washington, DC, but there's still time for you to sign up and arrange to visit with your members of Congress.

The convention is scheduled for April 17-20 at the Marriott Wardman Park and features the usual outstanding lineup of general sessions, including:

  • Major Garrett, CBS News White House Correspondent, moderating a panel discussion on prospects for bipartisan cooperation in Congress;
  • Dana Perino, former White House Press Secretary and co-host of Fox News' "The Five"' discussing the outlook for the November elections;
  • Three former state department of transportation leaders will examine state infrastructure funding initiatives;
  • A panel of experts will explain "How 'Big Data' Will Change Your Company";

In addition, dozens of outstanding management sessions will be offered on a wide range of timely topics, such as, "Uninsurability: What It Is, Why It Matters, and How to Explain It to Your Clients"; "Cloud-Based Document Solutions"; "Legal Aspects of BIM: Best Practices"; and many more.

While they are in Washington for the convention, most ACEC members take advantage of the opportunity to visit with their members of Congress and help deliver ACEC's message on key issues such as infrastructure funding, energy and taxation.

The ACEC government affairs staff provides extensive briefings to members before they go up to Capitol Hill to visit with their legislators, and ACEC Ohio provides information on how members can request an appointment with a Representative or Senator.
