Don Mader to retire as ACEC Ohio Executive Director; search for successor underway

After 34 years of service, Don Mader, executive director of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Ohio, will retire effective June 30, 2016.

Council President Lynn S. Miggins (KS Associates, Inc.) has appointed a seven-member committee from the association’s Board of Directors and charged it with screening candidates and recommending the Council’s next executive director to the board in March 2016.

“We are incredibly grateful to Don for his leadership over these many years," Ms. Miggins said.  "He has always been a dedicated and devoted advocate for our firms and our industry.  We wish Don and Cindy all the best as they embark on their retirement journey.”

“I have been honored to represent Ohio’s consulting engineers,” Mader said.  “They quietly go about solving society’s toughest problems and seldom get the accolades they deserve.”

“We’ve accomplished a lot of things I’m proud of, such as the enactment of the Qualifications-Based Selection law, and growing the association from its infancy,” he said, “but it’s time for a new generation of leadership to take the Council to the next level.”
