Do you know a state legislator or member of Congress?

Take Legislative Relationship Survey

If you have a relationship with a state legislator or member of Congress, please take a couple of minutes to pass this information on to ACEC Ohio by participating in the Council's Legislative Relationship Survey.

By doing so, you will be helping to make ACEC Ohio a more effective advocate for our industry – and helping your company, as well.

A successful association government affairs program is like the proverbial three-legged stool.  It has a trio of critically important "legs": an effective lobbyist, an adequately funded political action committee and a membership that is willing to communicate with their legislators when critical legislative issues arise (think back to last year's attempt to extend the state sales tax to business services).

While it is vitally important to have a lobbyist who can effectively communicate the industry position on the issues, it is hard to overestimate the power of the business owner who is willing to communicate personally with his or her legislators when the chips are down.

That's why ACEC Ohio is developing a database of members who have relationships with their state legislators and members of Congress – and helping members develop those relationships if they don't already have them.

Please take a couple of minutes to complete the printed survey questionnaire or if you prefer, go online to participate.
