Special inspections is subject of May 12 ACEC Ohio seminar

Attendance limited to first 50 registrants

Few provisions in the Ohio Building Code are as misunderstood as the requirement for special inspections, which is why ACEC Ohio is sponsoring a half-day seminar on the topic in Columbus on May 12.

Understanding Special Inspections will be presented by Steven P. Regoli, AIA and Jan Sokolnicki, Senior Staff for the Ohio Board of Building Standards, the agency responsible for adoption and enforcement of the building code.

This session is intended to take the mystery out of special inspections and leave design professionals and building officials with a clear understanding of when they are required, who should perform them, how to conduct and document them, and what should be done with the information obtained as the result of a special inspection.

Attendance at this program, which will be held at the board's headquarters at 6606 Tussing Road, on the east side of Columbus, will be limited to the first 50 registrants. The registration cost for ACEC Ohio members is $20 per person.

All registrants will receive a confirmation with a map and directions to the seminar location. Advance registration is required; walk-in registration will not be available.
