ACEC Ohio Partnering with OFCC

This month I want to highlight the ACEC Ohio, State Public Works Committee and our new relationship with OFCC.

This year the State Public Works Committee has been hard at work with the mission of fostering a stronger working relationship with the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC).  Chaired by Tony Hayek, the ACEC Ohio State Public Works Committee created a joint liaison committee with the AIA Ohio (Institute of American Architects).  After surveying our memberships, this committee identified three areas to partner with OFCC  on: Procurement, Fees and Contracts.  A letter was drafted outlining these three areas and goals for each area, see OFCC Letter.

In March, the liaison committee which includes Rich Miller and Jim Cicero from ACEC Ohio along with Clair Howey and Hal Munger from AIA Ohio met with the Executive Team at OFCC including Dave Williamson, Executive Director; Craig Weise, Chief of Projects, Jon Walden, Chief Legal Counsel and Lane Beougher, Energy Manager.  A very productive conversation was held and quarterly liaison meetings were set up through December 2017.
